Superfoods are defined by their unique properties and high levels of desirable nutrients. They are often linked to the prevention of many diseases and several health benefits beyond their nutritional value.
- What is lucuma?
Considered the “Gold of the Incas”, Lucuma is a fruit native to South America that has flavors reminiscent of maple syrup, sweet potato, and pumpkin. It has a low glycemic index and contains vitamins A and B3, iron, calcium, zinc, and antioxidants.
- What is yellow aji pepper?
One of the main ingredients of Peruvian cuisine, this fully-flavored pepper has hints of citrus such as passion fruit and mango. Also, yellow aji has antioxidants and vitamin C.
- What is cacao?
The Mayans considered it the “Food of the Gods”. In addition to its delicious flavor, cacao is a source of antioxidants, magnesium, calcium, and iron.
- What is chipotle?
Chipotles are actually smoked jalapeño peppers. They are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C.
- Do I need to refrigerate my nut butter?
Our nut butters do not need to be refrigerated, just keep them in a cool place like your pantry and away from direct sunlight. If you wish, you can refrigerate them to lengthen the shelf life, although they may become a little harder to mix.
- Is oil separation natural? What should I do if my nut butter separates?
Yes, oil separation is completely natural when your butter has been sitting for a little while. As a matter of fact, it is what you should expect from a natural nut butter without any additives like ours. We recommend stirring it every time before you use it.
- Why is my cacao hazelnut butter so runny?
Hazelnut butter is pretty runny itself and because we don’t add any additives or preservatives it maintains its liquid consistency.
- What is the shelf life?
Our nut butters are best consumed within 9 months of production. You will find the “best by” date at the bottom of each jar. However, nut butters can be safely consumed up after a year of production as long as they have been carefully stored and without direct sunlight.
- Is your entire facility peanut free?

We lightly roast our nuts to enhance and preserve the flavors, as well as to improve their shelf life.
